The idea that men can be "engineered" through the manipulation of the genetic code is not only "scary, disturbing", as Kevin Kelly, from Wired, says naïvely but after you read the arguments of the "thinkers" (like Gregory Stock, Redesigning Humans: Our Inevitable Genetic Future) one is left with the strange sensation of having to decide what is more "scary": their propositions or the flat quality of their cultural and intellectual world.

La idea de que los hombres pueden ser "mejorados" a través de la manipulación genética, no solo es "aterradora y preocupante", como ingenuamente comenta Kevin Kelly, de la revista Wired sino que, luego de leer los argumentos de estos "pensadores" (como Gregory Stock, Redesigning Humans: Our Inevitable Genetic Future) uno se queda con la extraña sensación de tener que decidir qué es mas "aterrador", si sus propuestas o la llaneza de su mundo cultural e intelectual.
